We are excited to have Co-Founder Ryan Hunter-Reay is also Racing For Cancer’s Global Ambassador! Ryan’s story is a great one, indeed, an inspirational one.

Here’s a guy that has risen through the racing community as one of the next great American race car drivers. Ryan’s last win was at the Long Beach Grand Prix in 2010, just a few months after losing his mom to colon cancer. Ryan dedicated the win to his mom! He is committed to helping in the global fight against cancer and his story inspired the launching of Racing For Cancer! Ryan finished 7th in the IZOD IndyCar Series points championship in 2010 and 2011 and has signed for two more years with Andretti Autosport. Ryan is intelligent, caring, compassionate, and a fierce competitor as well and the cancer community is blessed to have Co-Founder Ryan Hunter-Reay as the global ambassador to this noble cause. In early 2011, Ryan was also bestowed another great honor in being named a Global Envoy for the Lance Armstrong foundation. Ryan met his wife, the former Ms. Beccy Gordon, at Long Beach 8 years ago. Ryan is the first American driver to win at Long Beach since his boss Michael Andretti. He’s got the good looks and media presence that every sports superstar certainly must possess. We have no doubt Ryan will be “kissing the bricks” at Indianapolis in the not too distant future, but more importantly, he sets aside whatever time we need to advance the fight against cancer! We are proud to have him as our ambassador and on our team.
