Indianapolis 500 Qualifying Report

indianapolis 500 logo“(Firestone) Fast nine is a wrap. We ended up qualifying P7, so we moved up a position. All-in-all really happy with the result. Forty-eight hours ago we didn’t know if we were going to make it in the top 20. The 28 DHL team did a great job rebounding and we kept after it and now we are starting seventh, only six cars in front of us. We’ve won from 19th so I know we can do it from there. I’m looking forward to it.”

Pole Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway proved to be action packed as nine qualifiers left it all on the line to capture pole position for the 105th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Presented by Gainbridge. Ryan Hunter-Reay and Colton Herta represented Andretti Autosport each with one attempt to capture a front row seat for next Sunday’s Green Flag.

DHL driver Hunter-Reay put in a solid four-lap effort but came up short of pole and settled for a starting spot on the inside of row three.

  • STARTING POSITION: 7th
  • QUALIFYING TIME: 230.499 MPH
