“After a podium at Mid-Ohio for the DHL team, hopefully we can find win number two at Pocono. It’s an extremely challenging track. The difference between Turn 1 and 3 presents a whole host of issues that you have to resolve setup wise. It’s all about a compromise between those two [turns] that allows you to have a good race day. I hope we have some good momentum to carry through the end of the season – that’s what we were able to do last year and really finish strong.”
You know what’s trickier than rocking a rhyme? Rocking three left turns around Pocono Raceway’s tri-oval. One might say that the driver’s adjustments in the car have to be right on time and they navigate the 2.5-mile course and build a compromise in the car balance between Turns 1 and 3. Don’t forget Turn 2 is hiding in there with challenges of it’s own… and then there’s the preparation for Turn 4… wait… What Turn 4?
And if one lap around the Tricky Triangle isn’t enough, we’re strapping in for 200 – a full 500 miles in the Pennsylvania Poconos. As they say, it’s not that easy.
