Indianapolis 500 Report: Day 2 Qualifying Report

“(Qualifying) was a wild ride. It was a testament to the team, they put a great car underneath me, it’s been that way for a week and a half now. We just had a bad qualifying draw yesterday and didn’t have the track conditions that were best for the run. I’m glad to get qualifying behind us so we can focus on racing. But starting 10th is fine, it’s Indianapolis and the only thing that counts is next Sunday.”

The field is officially set for the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race and when the green flag waves on Sunday, 2014 race winner Ryan Hunter-Reay will be starting from the fourth row in 10th position.

  • Starting Position: 10th fastest
  • Qualifying Speed: 231.442 mph

With only 4.5 hours of practice remaining, split between Monday and Friday, the focus now shifts to the race package and optimizing the fleet for 500-miles of racing.
