Milwaukee IndyFest Race Preview

milwaukeeHunter-Reay, the 2012 Milwaukee IndyFest champion, is coming off a second-place finish at Texas last weekend and returns to the historic Milwaukee Mile ranked third in the IZOD IndyCar Series championship points standings. The American has two wins (2004, 2012) in seven starts at the one-mile oval.

“There are a few racetracks on the IndyCar schedule that really stand out, and the Milwaukee Mile is one of them. The flat mile oval is one of the toughest tracks for a team and driver to get right, but when you hit the sweet spot it’s hard for me to think of a more rewarding feeling behind the wheel. In 2012, (Milwaukee) IndyFest is where we started our championship run with a streak of three wins in a row. Now third in points, we’re headed into the thick of the season determined to defend our championship for DHL and Chevy.”

Did You Know: In the 2004 Indy car race in West Allis, Wisconsin, Ryan started from the pole position and every lap of the 250-lap race on his way to his second career victory.
