RHR Finishes 3rd at INDYCAR Grand Prix

“Pretty solid day. We’ve had a lot of bad luck this year and it’s been frustrating, but we kept our heads down and it feels nice to come onto the podium here before we kick off the most important few weeks of our careers and our whole season. It’s nice to get the yellow and red DHL colors back here and close to the top step of the podium. We’re saving that (top step) for the (Indianapolis) 500, I guess.”

The green flag waved in the Indianapolis air and the field of 22 took to the 2.439-mile road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The caution-free 85-lap race saw many position battles and impressive passes, as Ryan Hunter-Reay climbed five positions to claim his first podium of the season and second INDYCAR Grand Prix podium-finish.

  • Started 8 // Finished 3
  • Championship: Eighth (117 pts)
  • Collected his 100th career top-10 finish while earning the team’s first podium of the season

No packing up is required as the teams transition the cars from road course setup to the oval configurations, preparing for the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500. The rookies hit the track first Monday morning for Rookie Orientation and the veterans join Monday afternoon to take Opening Day into full swing.
