Grand Prix of Alabama Qualifying Report

grand prix of alabama logo“Unfortunately, it was a really tough day for the 28 team. We started out with a throttle issue – not sure where that came from. We are trying to diagnose that; I think we found it, it didn’t repeat itself. From there, we had some drivetrain issues the rest of the day we were trying to figure out – a separate issue. It’s still putting us in the hole by three to five tenths of a second a lap. Not really sure what to say at the moment, but hopefully we’ll make a turnaround for tomorrow and get the DHL Honda up into the top five.”

The first day of on-track action for the 2021 NTT INDYCAR SERIES kicked off today at Barber Motorsports Park with two practices followed by qualifying for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. Ryan Hunter-Reay went on to qualify for seventeenth starting position (P17) at Barber, with a qualifying time of 01:06.8512.

A 30-minute warm-up session will kick off the morning followed by the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on NBC at 3 p.m. ET.
