“We’ve been anticipating this opportunity for quite some time after not being able to race at Barber in 2020 due to the pandemic. The whole team has been working relentlessly in preparation for the 2021 season and it all kicks off this weekend. We’ll be pushing hard to earn our third win here at Barber and start the season off with a surge of momentum heading into the three-race stretch leading into May. Once again, I look forward to representing our partners at DHL and AutoNation on and off the race track this season.”
After missing out on running the 2020 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama due to pandemic restrictions along with the rest of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES field, Andretti Autosport is back in 2021 for their 11th season competing at Barber Motorsports Park. Coming into the weekend, Andretti Autosport has 38 starts at Barber Motorsports Park including two wins, one pole, and four podiums.
Since the NTT INDYCAR SERIES debut at Barber Motorsports Park in 2010, Ryan Hunter-Reay has scored two wins, one from the pole in 2013, and is tied with Will Power for second in most wins at Barber with two (2013, 2014).
