“We had a really good start and passed a lot of cars. We were on our way to a P3 or P4 finish, but I don’t know how it all unraveled between fuel and in lane. I drove my butt off today. I passed a lot of cars and ended up 11th.”
It was looking hopeful for a top-10 finish for Ryan Hunter-Reay, but an unintentional short fuel fill on their first pit stop forced the 28 team into an aggressive fuel-saving strategy. Despite the fueling issues, Hunter-Reay was able to make up eight positions during the race to come away with an 11th-place finish.
