LONG BEACH INDYCAR HISTORY

  • Starts: 14
  • Best Start: 1 (2014)
  • Best Finish: 1 (2010)

“It’s been a tough year and a lot of bad luck and circumstances have held us back. We have one more shot this season and I’m hoping to have a good, straight-forward weekend in Long Beach to put together a solid result. I love Long Beach – love the city, love the track. I’ve had a lot of special moments there over the years, including my first win with Andretti Autosport. It’d be really nice to finish things out the way it began and end my time with the team with a win at a track that feels like home.”

It has been almost 30 months since the NTT INDYCAR SERIES last raced in Long Beach, with the 2020 race cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2021 race moved to this September weekend from the traditional April race date. Three of the four current drivers in the Andretti Autosport lineup have captured victory on the Streets of Long Beach (Hunter-Reay, 2010; Hinchcliffe, 2014; Rossi, 2018, 2019).

Ryan Hunter-Reay’s first win wearing the Andretti shield came on the Streets of Long Beach in 2010. After 12 seasons with Andretti Autosport, the 18-time INDYCAR race winner will be leaving the team following the 2021 season and looks to end his Andretti career the way it started, with another win in Southern California.
