“Today was another work in progress. We were quick in qualifying. It’s obvious we’re still having drivetrain issues lingering from Barber. We’re starting right in the middle of the pack and we can work from there. We’ll keep our head down and put our best foot forward for warmup and hopefully put the DHL Honda up front tomorrow. This one is a home race, so it’s an important one for all of us.”
Qualifying for the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is in the books, and tomorrow’s 100-lap race will see Ryan Hunter-Reay starting thirteenth (P13), with a qualifying time of 1:00.8524. Of note, RHR missed out on advancing to round 2 of qualifying by only .0603 seconds.
The field of 24 cars takes on Round 2 of the 2021 NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship season at Noon ET on NBC.
