Indianapolis 500 Race Report

“All in all, I think P8 was a win for us today. The DHL guys did a great job, and I had a pretty good balance in the race. We’ve had a car that’s been a mile-an-hour off our teammates all month; same thing in the race, all we were really able to do was play defense today. Not the Indy we were looking for, but we’ll take the points and head on to Detroit to defend our win from last year.”

Ryan Hunter-Reay and the DHL team completed six stellar pit stops and jumped 14 spots to earn Hunter-Reay his fifth top-eight finish at the Indianapolis 500. The points earned helped RHR climb from ninth to seventh in the standings.

  • STARTED: 22nd // FINISHED: 8th
