Big Machine Grand Prix Qualifying Report

big machine grand prix“Unfortunately, we missed out by hundredths of a second – again. We’re going to start 13th. We had a good race car here last time, so hopefully we can make up some ground. The tire strategy here is kind of straight forward for everybody, so there’s not a lot of room to gain there. Hopefully our pace outright over the whole race will bring us up into the top 10, closer to the top five, and maybe have a shot to win. We have warm-up in the morning and we’ll put our best foot forward.”

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is back at it this weekend as one of three major series competing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for an action-packed tripleheader race weekend. After an hour-long practice session in the afternoon, the 28-car field took to the 14-turn, 2.439-mile road course for an abbreviated, knockout qualifying session.

Ryan Hunter-Reay just narrowly missed out on moving into the final round of qualifying missing the cut-off by only eighth hundredths of a second.
