Detroit Grand Prix Race 2 Report

“We started 17th and had good pace in the 28 DHL Honda. We pitted a little too early and had to save too much fuel in the end. We brought home 11th. If we had to do it over again, we would’ve pitted a little later and tried to stretch the pit windows a little bit.”

The Detroit Chevrolet Grand Prix came to a close today with the second race of the doubleheader weekend. Another round of qualifying set the tone for the day and Colton Herta led the Andretti Autosport team with a second-place qualifying position and Ryan Hunter-Reay starting 17th. Hunter-Reay just narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish, advancing six spots throughout the race.

  • STARTED: 17th // FINISHED: 11th
  • CHAMPIONSHIP: 16th (122 pts.)
  • OF NOTE:

With the doubleheader on the streets of Belle Isle complete, the Andretti Autosport stable shifts their focus to Road America – the longest track on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule.
